Rate:
My hourly rate is $200. Individual sessions are one hour and couple sessions are a minimum of 90 minutes to allow for the depth of processing required for couple work. Fees are payable at the time of your session in the form of cash, check or credit card. Please be aware, this fee includes time spent on notes and record-keeping, supervision, case consultation and ongoing trainings that allow me to provide you with the most up-to-date services as possible. Fees may increase and you will be notified 90 days in advance if they do.
Cancellation Policy:
If you have to cancel a therapy appointment please contact me at least 72 hours in advance. This insures that other clients have the opportunity to use the time and allows me to plan accordingly. You are responsible for paying your fee if you cancel your appointment with less than 72 hours’ notice.
Late Payments & Scheduling:
Therapy: Clients who fall behind paying 2 or more sessions will need to pay their balance before being allowed to schedule further sessions.
Insurance:
I am currently an out-of-network provider. If your insurance provider covers mental health treatment, I can provide you with a superbill at the end of each month that you can submit for reimbursement .I believe managed care has deleterious effects on the therapeutic relationship, not least of which are the facts that psychotherapy is an art, not a science; and that the human psyche cannot be ordered onto a schedule for healing or transformation. Please see the form “What are the concerns about using health insurance for therapy?” for more information.
Other:
I am open to phone calls between sessions and phone calls that last more than 10 minutes will be charged at my hourly rate. Any work such as writing assessments or letters on your behalf, or talking to other care providers will also be charged at my hourly rate.
Emergencies:
I provide non-emergency psychotherapeutic services by scheduled appointment. If I believe your psychotherapeutic issues are above my level of competence, or outside of my scope of practice, I am legally required to refer, terminate, or consult. If for any reason you are unable to contact me by telephone and you are having a true emergency, please call the Crisis Clinic (206-461-3222) or 911 or check yourself into the nearest hospital emergency room immediately if your personal safety or mental health is at stake.
